I was a young girl searching for a profession that would keep my mind engaged, give me a legitimate reason to spend time with books, and at the same time keep my wallet in good shape. I found it — and I was right on both counts. What I did not know then was that this profession would become a lifelong passion for me.
My curiosity gradually transformed into the joy of discovery, the privilege of listening to incredibly deep life stories, gratitude for people’s trust, and a desire to truly be there for someone.
I began my journey with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. During my final years of study, I started training in Gestalt Therapy at the National Organization of Gestalt Therapists of Ukraine, where I found many like-minded colleagues and a wonderful therapeutic methodology.
After completing my studies, I joined a psychiatric and neurological inpatient clinic in Lviv, where I underwent my clinical initiation under the guidance of people who shaped the foundation of my professional worldview. First and foremost, I speak of Roman Kechur.
Later, I felt a need for deeper theoretical grounding and entered the Sigmund Freud University in Vienna to pursue a Master’s degree in Psychoanalysis. There, I became deeply fascinated by the ideas of Donald Winnicott and Thomas Ogden under the sensitive mentorship of Jeanne Wolff Bernstein.
After returning home, this passion continued through the translation and publication — together with Roman Kechur — of two books by Thomas Ogden: Projective Identification and Creative Reading: Essays on seminal analytic works.
After my return, I also became more deeply involved in supervision and teaching, because supporting the growth of young therapists’ practice and therapeutic identity brings me particular fulfillment.
Today, I continue to combine all three aspects of my professional work and increasingly devote myself to the study and teaching of psychopathology, supported by the Turin School of Psychopathology, especially Jan Roubal and Gianni Francesetti.
